Local use

Without an account, tasks, notes and preferences stay in this browser’s IndexedDB storage. A service worker caches the interface for offline use. Timer preferences use local storage. A photo you choose as a background is stored on this device and is not uploaded or included in JSON exports.

Optional web account

If you create an account, we store your login, display name, password hash and recovery-key hash. We use a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. Tasks, subtasks, comments, notes and settings are then sent over HTTPS to our hosting server to sync between signed-in browsers. Sync is not end-to-end encrypted. This account does not connect to the Mac/iPad app’s iCloud data.

Technical information

Our server receives your IP address and browser information. The API uses these for abuse prevention and session security. Website access logging is disabled; infrastructure error and security logs may contain technical request information. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics in this web preview.

Your controls

You can export your planner in Settings → Data. Deleted tasks remain in the app’s recoverable trash. Signing out removes the local cache of that account from this browser; it does not delete the server account. For account deletion or a privacy request, contact hello@britetodo.com. We verify account ownership before acting. Server backups rotate after 14 days.

Payments

Web payments are disabled during early access. No payment card information is collected by this version. This notice will be updated before payment processing is introduced.
